Why We Named Our Show After a Weekly Food Holiday

Welcome to Taco Talk — our new weekly corner of the internet where we share what we're seeing in mortgage marketing, behind-the-scenes moments from the show, and the occasional strong opinion about salsa.

For our first post, it felt right to answer the question we get more than any other: why tacos?

It started with a Tuesday

When we were dreaming up the show, we kept circling the same problem: mortgage content is... fine. It's informative. It's professional. And it's completely forgettable. Nobody has ever said 'did you catch that rate sheet webinar?' at a happy hour.

But everybody remembers Taco Tuesday. It's the one day of the week with its own branding, its own ritual, its own fan base. Nobody had to market it — it marketed itself. So we asked: what would it look like if a mortgage show felt like that?

The lesson hiding in the tortilla

Here's the thing about Taco Tuesday that applies to every loan officer and lender we work with: consistency beats cleverness. Tacos aren't fancy. They show up every single week, same day, same promise, and people plan around them.

Your marketing works the same way. One great video a week, every week, will outperform a burst of ten posts followed by two months of silence. Ritual builds audience. Audience builds trust. Trust builds pipeline.

So yes, the name is a strategy

Taco Tuesday is our reminder — to ourselves and to our guests — that this industry doesn't have to be boring to be taken seriously. You can talk shop, share real market insight, and still have fun doing it.

New posts land here every week. Got a topic you want us to tackle? Send it our way through the contact form — bonus points if it comes with a taco recommendation.
